Plant / Product Features:
Smooth straight grey trunk ringed with evenly spaced leaf scars and topped with a canopy of feathery fronds. Fast growing and prefers a moist, rich or sandy soil. Handles winds but will not tolerate salt spray and requires regular maintenance to remove spent fronds. Prefers full sun but also tolerates part shade.

Landscaping Uses:
This versatile palm is often used in Auckland for street planting and in urban gardens because it is both hardy and vigorous(but needs access to adequate moisture to look at its best). Plant as a single specimen or in groups of three or more.
